Summer is not supposed to be stressfull...*whines*
I know, I promised a big long post about Ireland as soon as I got back... which was almost three weeks ago. But I've just been INSANELY overloaded with schoolwork to the point where I've barely been in touch with my CTYIers from this year, and I was away for a week last week also, cause my team went to track camp.
And I've decided that Ibn Battuta was a selfish, stuck-up, obnoxious, sexist, bullying, arrogant, annoying little twerp who never actually travelled around the world, he just heard stories and read books about India and China and all those fun places and decided to pretend he had visited them and wrote a book about them because he was an ANNOYING TWERP. You have probably never heard of him. Consider yourself lucky.
Ahem. Ireland. It was really pretty. And I came back and taught all my friends Irish lingo and they are now constanly hering "Ireland stories." CTYI was at Dublin City University (DCU) and Novel Writing was brilliant. We wrote a novel as a class. It's amazing. It makes no sense. It is the most random, chock full of inside jokes-y novel you will ever read. I mean, picture 20 teenagers writing a novel over the couse of four days. Yeah.
'Kay, I've gotta write a short post cause I want to get up semi-early tomorrow to run. That way I'll have the rest of the day to work on my science paper. Ho hum.
OOH, almost forgot to mention -- Evanna Lynch (she plays Luna Lovegood) was at CTYI! She was taking another writing class. I talked to her a couple of times, cause my friend Sorcha was friends with her. She's really nice, not at *all* stuck up or anything... she actually kind of reminded me of Luna, though Evanna's more down-to-earth... then again, most people are...
Okay, now I'm really done. Maybe I'll write more when (if) I finish all my work. For now, toodles.

You met her?!?!?!??! I envy you, so much! AGH! I wish I was in Ireland! That's so cool!!!!!
AND YES! I have heard of Ibn Battuta! My global teacher last year was obsessed with him, we learned a crapload about him. I now refuse to play Marco Polo in the pool, instead I play Ibn Battuta. Are they actually making you read his book? Man, that sucks.
