Memory of the week #2

Remember that day when we randomly were watching Full House on the TV in the hall (which it turns out we weren't supposed to be watching). It was like after morning activites and lunch had ended but before the mandatory fun (I think it was 60's day?) began. We were all doing our laundry/hanging out in the lounge near the laundry room because everyone else was doing their laundry. And the animal planet was on, but someone started flipping channels, and we're like "hey, it's Full house!" and we ended up sitting there for like 45 minutes until one of the RA's (I think it was Casey) noticed we were watching the TV and turned it off.

Christmas

Hmmm. So, Christmas/vacation is certainly on the spectrum of rocking.

At a pep rally at my school Friday that we were using as an excuse to not do work, marvelous things occurred. I normally hate pep rallies. That day, we had a band of the teachers playing old school, classic rock. Their band is christened Chalkdust, a name of rocking proportions. They started playing Mustang Sally, a song that I love, so I ran out, into the middle of the gym floor, in front of the four hundred or so kids in my high school, and started dancing. Luckily, my friend Jackie followed me out there so I didn't look too stupid, and a bunch of my friends came out too. The crowd out there got bigger and bigger as we encouraged more people to join. We ended up having a HUGE MOSH(ish) PIT RIGHT THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GYM! it was awesome. The crowd started chanting for Chalkdust to play Freebird, a really long awesome classic song, and they did. At the beginning was a slow part, and everybody linked arms and got in a circle, doing the hold-up-the-fake-lighter-for-the-ballad thing, except one kid who pulled out a real lighter that smelled like pot and got in trouble. The fast part of the song came and we all jumped around in this awesome moshish pit, except without the violent beating up and slamming of people. Some kid had this stuffed penguin he had been carrying around all day in honor of the holiday, and they threw it into the put, where it crowdsurfed! WE HAD A CROWDSURFING PENGUIN! Everyone kept shouting, ITS THE FREEBIRD! it was amazing. I will remember that day for a very long time.

So, on to Christmas. It was a good day. I got presents at my house, then we went to my grandparent's house and ate dinner with family. I got nineteen books, and forty dollars worth of gift cards that have the potential of turning into more books. It's amazing. I made a pile of them, from the biggest on the bottom to the smallest on the top. They're so beautiful! Life is good. I've been reading for the past three days, pretty much nonstop.

Yesterday, though, I went to see Eragon, which was pretty good. I approve of it, it was not bad. The actor who played my favorite character being amazingly hot didn't hurt either.

And now I have taken a suitable amount of time out of my day in order to update you all on my life, because I know you're highly interested in my doings. And so, I return to my reading.

happy christmahannukwanzoxing day!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I <3> Christmas. And Christmas break. Which I now find is already halfway over. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!?!?! Saturday I had a meet and that pretty much took up the whole day (I came in 3rd in the 3000m! Woohoo!) Then christmas eve, then christmas, then the day-after-christmas, which don't really count as normal vacation time because they're special...which puts me at today. And I had practise this morning where I (and the rest of the team) were informed that we had actually been expected to run one of those days...and here i thought my coach was being all nice and giving us a three day break. Argh.

SO. Christmas. Very good. I got loads of stuff (the benefit of a large extended family) including a ton of clothes, even more clothes courtesy of gift cards, a new purse, new earings, the second season of gilmore girls, a few books, new PJs, and a giant stuffed Cheburashka (russian cartoon character) which is the cutest thing EVER. Christmas morning we drove out to long island where everyone lives except us and visited with both my grandmas. My grandma (mom's side) made everyone participate in her 2nd annual christmas McNeill family talent show (it's very low pressure). I recited the whole christmas story which i told you i had memorized thanks to candlelight tours. Then dinner at grandma's house before going to nannie's for desert. it was a madhouse there. Eleven kids between the ages of 2 and 15. And they're all boys except for me, Lilly, and my little cousin Annie (who's the two year old). It was fun, though.

And now it's over. Not much is happening the rest of the week, which is utterly fine by me. Just practise tomorrow and the day after and the track holiday party tomorrow night. No clue what i'm doing for new years. So how was everyone else's christmas?

URG!

ahhhhhh, i wrote this huge long entry on Christmas and it got deleted! That sucks! But I'll put up a long post later, i just had to explain my FRUSTRATION!

haha happy holidays

happy holidays guys...lol miranda....i forget whether u said happy holidays or merry christmas or whatever...but by gosh, whatever happened to political correctness? so to make up for the red and greeness, im mixing ALL HOLIDAY COLORS to make this murky brown, which is kinda light...but i realized that murky brown wouldnt exactly show up against the dark blue...so whatevvvv. i have vacation practice for indoor....woot.

omg i think i have ADD. i cant focus on a post if it's longer than mine. haha, thats like all of them....

I FINISHED MY BIO LAB!!!!!!!!

Christmas time is.... near

wow, in the past few days so many people have posted!!! yipee!!! So I decorated the Christmas tree at my dad's house yesterday, it's HUGE. We always get big trees because our living room is two stories. But this year it took us like ages to get the angel at least close to the top and she's sorta facing the wrong direction, but we couldn't really fix it.

I'm at my step grandpa's and step-step-grandma's house right now. It's my grandpa's birthday and we're gonna go out and eat dinner sometime. I'm sitting downstairs on the computer instead of socializing, but i think it's ok. I'm SO tired of baby-sitting my little sister, i finally told her to go upstaors so i could spend some time with my older sister and she started crying.

Eh, well... tomorrow i'm singing at church which'll be weird cause it'll be like the first time i'm in an actual church service for around a year, and the first time i'll be at this specifuc church for like three years. (i'm gonna be at the church that i went to when i was little, and i haven't gone there for ages because my parents went there together but when they got divorced it was awkward for either of them to go there so i ended up not going there even though all the people i knew went there and it was like three minutes from myself....)

i've been really busy getting ready for christmas at both housees, spending time with my family, making presents, making everyone feel good etc. etc. etc. Although when i make presents it's usually pretty fun. I'm making paintings for all my relatives and i've got this reallllly cool big plan which i'm gonna do with allth e various paitings which i've started but will take me a really long time.

So tomorrow evening i'm at my dad's house and we all open one present. Then we go to sleep, wake up in the morning and open the rest at my dad's house. Then around ten my mom comes to pick us up and we open presents at her house. Then either tuesday or wednesday we come back here and open presents with my cousins and grandparents. It's like three different christmases!!!

That's the cool thing about having such a big family, but the problem is I really should (basically have to) get pressents for all of them too!

What're you all doing for the holidays? What holiday do you celebrate? etc.

This is fun.

Anyways, hahahaha Laura, bells are possibly the coolest, most obnoxious thing ever! I wore one around my neck today but it ended up pissing me off by the end of the day.

They are almost as obnoxious as blocking off an entire stairway every single morning. Those desperate looks those upperclassman give you as they desperately try to avoid you, you know what they are thinking.

"I would totally beat your face in/break your very soul if it there weren't so many of you."

Yes indeedy. Makes my day, everday.

Lexington High School is such a whiny, bitchy place. We have a magazine called, "Whatever the Fuck you Want", in which nearly the entire student populus rants about how much their lives suck and about how completely and totally meaningless life is while they are most likely listening to music on the latest incarnation of the iPod. And wasting their parent's money away on weed.

But it is funny. And we read it to piss off the teachers.

As for Asian diversity carebear dude who wants my SN, I don't mind if you give it to him. I've met my share of strange people over the internet. o.o

Holiday season's cool. My dad's coming home from Wisconsin. Wisconsin needs more trees, hills and weird drizzly cloudy days. In sum, it needs to be more like New England.

Yeah, of course everywhere should be more like New England for my own personal enjoyment. I was going to move there for awhile, but since my dad doesn't like it there either we're probably going to stay in Lexington until I go off to college.

What are people's plans for the next summer?

Memory of the week #21

remember when we made those collages where we were supposed to be "selling ourselves". And we were all like 'how wrong does that sound?'....but it was fun. we spent like a whole study hall flipping through magazines looking for pictures. Many good quotes came from this project. "Unlock your inner man"..."Your existance will be validated. Yes."...there's probably more.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

heya guys.

well, life has been going swimmingly. we had our winter concert, and i thought we were gonna suck, for one reason:

AND THE MOUNTAINS ECHOED: GLORIA

robert longfield, my entire high school band hates you because of that song. its the most difficult thing ive ever seen (i play flute). septuplets, b flats an octave off the scale.... horrible horrible things. we were gonna do it last, and we just couldnt cause we got too tired, and then we switched up the order and did it really well. we got a standing ovation, and our resident musical genius, aka our band teacher mr calistri, was, i believe, satisfied with our performance.

the entire month of december my friends and i have been wearing bells on our shoes. it annoys greatly one half of the student population, who are scrooges, and the other half it cheers up. i think its cheery. it puts me in a great mood. today i came to the conclusion that my pants muffled the bells on my shoes too much, so i put very large, loud, awesome bells on my backpack. its great.

my english teacher dislike making us write crappy new york state essays, and i told her about the essay writing course, so shes been letting me teach lessons all week. its been great, i gave them an assignment to write about whatever they wanted and you should see what they came up with, its great stuff!!! ive been using the immortal words of amanda paige "make the personal universal" and stay out of the box! its great great great. speaking of boxes, where's hank at? i havent heard much news of him. so, this has been awesome with the essay stuff.

masterminds meet january fifth cant WAIT. we have to defeat troy high!!! theyre the only ones whove beaten us, and if we beat them and win all our other games well have a same or better record as them. yay!

oh, and kelly, with your relationship woes. that sucks. im sorry. if you want though, my friend (i believe i told you about him- hes the asian diversity carebear) saw your picture when you posted it up here. he thinks youre hot. and then i told him you live in massachusetts. hes upset. but he keeps begging me to give you his screen name. wanna make a creepy friend from new york? other than me, chetna, alydaar, justine, and monica?

in the library

im in the library of my school...woot woot. my friend alex (he went to cty at saratoga) is here, nothing to do!!! for the next 10 minutes...i better go though. i get check what event im running for indoor!!! woohooooooooooooooooo. ok. short post, as always. CYA.

Update

Yeah, I should post more on this lovely blog of ours but at least I haven't dropped completely off the face of the Earth. Like some people. *cough**hack*

Anyways, so, I kinda NEED the holidays. It's not just like, "Oh yeah, some holidays would be nice.". It's like "IF YOU DO GIVE HOLIDAYS TO ME RIGHT NOW, I WILL GO INTO WITHDRAWAL RIGHT HERE ON YOUR FLOOR". *sigh*

Workload has been high, but my procrastination levels have also been absurdly high. So whatever, it balances out with the hours that I stay up.

PLEASANTVILLE IS ONLY LYKE THE BEST MOVIE EVER. haha. Has anyone seen that? So good.

Not that any of you probably care or need to be informed of, but I don't have a blog of my own to bitch on so I'll have to do it here.

-Vent starts-

Someone broke up with me after like 4 days because we didn't know each other well enough. And now we aren't talking anymore. It's kinda sad because I'll never see if it's would work out ever.

-Vent over-

I don't think I'm going anywhere Christmas break, but hopefully me and my azn connections can get together something. If we can't it would just suck because it's only been a tradition for years. :'(

Yeeeah.

I've been doing Debate this year, anyone else here on the debate team? Please tell me if you're headed to Big Lex very soon. I'll be there selling concessions or picking up after you. Hooray.

So yeah, that's how things are in my life.

Only around four more hours of school left in 2007! THANK GOODNESS!!!! AH!!! The concert went pretty well today, my friends told me to wear my heels so i did and now my feet hurt. I was baby sitting my little sis earlier this evening. I just put a big post up on my livejournal, so i don't have much left for here. I'm also realllllly tired and I'm getting sick again. fun. I always tend to get sick are major holidays (excluding my birthday). hmmm..... but here's the link to my lifejournal if you wanna read it, www.keuvad.livejournal.com

holidaaaaays

so, i got my christmas tree yesterday at my mom's house, and i also did a lot of shopping for my family. I think i got some pretty good presents. The holiday concert is tomorrow so we did a lot of practicing today. I'm in four different choirs as well as band in school so it's a pretty big deal. But after that it's winter break which is awesome. I actually didn't have any homework tonight and won't have any tomorrow and then wednesday is a half day so it sorta feels like break already.

Besides that.... not much has been happening. My sister's home and we've been hanging out a lot. I'm back at my dad's house again. All my friends are going away for christmas/hanuka but i'm just hanging around. if you wanna call or talk that'd be awesome.

sup?

yeah....2day has been bad...but funny. so, me and my frend mal pretend that Joe, who switched 2 a private skool, had asked mal out. stupidly, all the rest of my frends believed this even tho we did sumthing similar last yr around the same time. then, loudmouthed alex (who is like a vietnamese greg, hes so PARANOID!!!! ask kelly, i think u talked 2 him, rite?) went and told joey...cuz joe didnt no...so now hes cursing me off and mad at me and im supposed 2 feel guilty, but im just laffing. its kinda funny, but now hes angry and mite not go 2 our secret santa party....
o yeah, 2 any1 who is jewish or sumthing....Happy hanukah.....
adios amigos

hooooooooola

hey, it's been a while. i've been suuuuuper busy. like stressed, no sleep busy. but it's been pretty good I guess. My sister came home for winter break about a week ago and today she came to two of my classes with me. Che took my history test and I think she did better then me. I'm getting my Christmas tree tomorrow (one of them) I'm not quite sure when I'm getting my christmas tree for my dad's house.... hm....

I made my sister the coolest present ever, but I don't wanna explain it here yet in case she reads it, I don't know why she would but whatever. I worked for like ten hours on it. wooohoo (lily, i stole your word)

Not much is really happening to me either, basketball started and I'm on the A team, if I didn't say that before. I'm still working on proofreading my story, uh...... i got scholars in the honor role for this marking period (which means 4.0 average) and that was pretty cool.

I don't know if i said this either but i got the coaches award for field hockey like a month ago which was cool because i worked really hard. I'll use a bright color to make our blog more beautiful, even though it won't do much. So I'll try and post more but I can't promise anything, probably over winter break i'll be able too.

(and this is totally the REAL orange)

indoor track is INTENSE

woohooo, we had a scrimmage, so it didnt really count, but our varsity kids didn't run, and the other ppl looked like they were better cuz they ran their varsity kids...lol. so apparently i came in third for the 55 in our team (not counting varsity) which is like "WOOHOO" becuz im a freshman and they're all like a million feet taller than i am! HAHA. seriously. im so short.

we got this kick-butt research paper for world hist, and im excited cuz we get to choose ANY TOPIC we want (it has to be between fall of rome 476 to congress of vienna 1815...?) and i wanna do this amazing topic that i find really interesting......hehehe. EXCITING.

and i have a boring romeo and juliet english paper. woohoo!

memory of the week #20

Remember when chetna got "stuck" in the tree?!? That was funny. I remember we had all gone in from a break (I think during study hall) and chetna decided to stay in the tree... so kendall raises her hand and says "Um, I think we left two things outside... my purse, and Chetna." Then I realized that I'd left my purse outside, too, so Hannah took me and Kendall outside to get our bags and get chetna out of the tree. So we get outside, and Hannah has a burst of inspiration -- she climbs the tree also, and tells us to go tell Amanda that she got stuck trying to get chetna down. This is where it starts to get slightly fuzzy... I remember going inside and telling Amanda that hannah got stuck, but I don't think Amanda ever actually had to go and look for them... I think hannah and chetna just came in after a few minutes laughing their heads off.

update on amelia!

OMG guess what I have this weekend? TIME. It's *really* cool. See, I had NO MEET this weekend (for the first time since like september) plus we're kind of between marking periods, so NO PROJECTS (also for the 1st time since september). Hence I can write a nice long update.

SO. We got our christmas tree yesterday! It isn't up yet though, it's still out in the backyard. it's pretty. And we're pretty fussy about our tree...we need a tall one 'ccause we have high cielings, but narrow because our living room is pretty small. Home depot had nothing, Lowe's had nothing, so we finally got it at the nursury where we had gotten it one other year and it was *really* nice...a guy helps you pick one and ties it to your car for you, and they give you free hot chocolate. And it's amazingly expensive, but it's worth it.

And yesterday evening I worked at candlelight tours at Richmondtown (historic village). I'd done it two years before, and it's really fun. Basically, people on the tours visit 5 historic buildings, and in each one there's a group of people who dod this little skit/tour thing about christmas in their period. The other two years I was in the Stephen's house (1860's) which pretty much was the classic victorian christmas scene, with a tree lit with real candles, sugarplums (which are actually really nasty), rosy cheeked children, etc.. But this year at the last minute I was switched to the basketmaker's house, which is the strict methodist family. I read the christmas story from the bile out loud. You know, the one from Charlie Brown. I have the whole thing memorized now.

On thursday was the SI cross country awards dinner. I personally didn't get any (only each team's varsity and freshman MVP) but us freshmen got a cool plaque since we were third on the island, and so did JV. *I* thought that we should have gone up to recieve the JV plaque, too, since the race that they based these awards on was one where all the freshmen ran JV. And several of us (myself included) even counted in the scoring, since I think 3 freshmen were in the top 7 runners on our team. But w/e. After the (somewhat boring) awards ceremony was over, the second half was a dance, which was very fun. We got to get all dressed up for it, and I got my hair cut so it looked all nice, and everybody danced! Yay!

Our PSAT results came in! I got a 1970. Not the best in the school or anything (I know two freshmen who got in the 2100's) but I was uber happy. And report cards go out on tuesday...I don't think I did as good this marking period. I mean, I don't think I did bad, but I don't think I'm going to be 2nd again. I've been getting a lot more low 90's this time, whereas last time I had a lot more high 90's. Plus my team's robot failed. I don't like robots. They don't like me either. It's a mutual relationship. But it's only two points off my average for CIM, and since I did well on the other projects this period, I think I'll still be okay.

I could still go on for a while...I haven't talked about how I'm going to be trying long jump at the next meet, or the dance last friday, or how my friend (the freshmen MVP, too) broke her ankle, or my holiday concert on tuesday, or "Freshmen Leader" elections last week...but I think I've writen enough. Toodles, everyone.

Wait, one more thing. How come everyone's stopped typing in color? It makes the blog much less...colorful. it saddens me.

YAYYYYYYYYY

WE WON BOTH OUR MASTERMINDS MATCHES.

it was awesome. i love masterminds. its so much fun. our first match was against hoosick falls, and we destroyed them. i wasnt up for that game, but i knew the answers to eleven questions, including two of which i couldnt BELIEVE my team didnt get. washington irving wrote about ichabod crane, and i just had a test about genetics and gregor mendel that morning!!! second match me, two other freshmen, and a junior were up. we beat holy names by ten points. i answered questions having to do with the washington monument, lizzie borden, and westminster, to name a few. (random questions. very random.) it was awesome. i love masterminds!!!

um..... yeah, thats basically my life. next meet we have to destroy troy high, because theyre the only ones we lost against. we're three and one. next match in january at holy names.

at school my friends and i wear bells on our shoes. it rocks. im spreading christmas cheer. and annoying the hell out of teachers and fun sucking kids. weirdly, its been catching on: people started wearing bells on ankles, necklaces, bracelets. im upset at that. its my friends and my thing. ive been doing it since seventh grade. jeez, stop being conformist, stupid kids...

dance next week. its a blackout dance. i dont know what that means. i think its going to be in like total darkness. that sort of thing doesnt bode well. all sorts of innapropriate things can and probably will happen at a dance such as that. speaking of which, anyone have pictures of me at that last dance? i think ive asked that before, but no one has responded as far as i am aware. of course, only amelia and miranda ever are on the blog.

and so i leave you this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AXU5ItccC0&mode=related&search=

merry christmas/happy holidays to anyone not celebrating christmas. im sure ill wish you all a merry christmas and such later on when its closer to being december 25th, but just for now. what are you guys doing for the holiday season?

memory of the week #19

I don't know how many of you were there, so some of you might not remember this...but remember that time when we were randomly walking in circles on the wall around that little garden thing with the tree in the middle? It was pretty funny. I seem to remember that I and a few other people had just come out of a meal, and some other people were walking in circles...so we just joined them. And every so often someone would abruptly turn around, and we'd all have to either turn around with them or try go get around them whenever they passed. And when someone sat down on the wall, we'd all have to kind of jump over them (because, of course, we couldn't step off the wall). Yeah, we're pretty wierd.

hiyas

my play went awesome. no, not just awesome... (let me dig into my adverb arsenal...) it went swimmingly!!! we did pretty well, but not a lot of people showed up. bummer. ah well, i still got to see my friends from other schools who visited me, and it was worth it to do it well. ive been quoting the play all weekend.

masterminds meet friday... wish me luck!

hmm thats weird, i was playing speedball (goalie) and i like hurt my right pinky... we have a connection, lily. freaky.

and... thats basically it, because my entire life for the past few weeks has been the play. we stayed after until NINE O CLOCK AT NIGHT for it, getting it ready, and our first run through without stopping was on opening night. it's really weird not staying after all the time now. i actually took the regular bus route home today for the first time in more than a week!

Monday, December 04, 2006

ouch.

speedball=jam my finger=no piano lesson tonight.

it hurts a lotttt and my finger looks DISGUSTING. it's like black and blue and purple (looks like mushed blueberries/blackberries.) and i ran with it today. woott woot.

indoor has been pretty....outdoor. we run outside everyday, and i forgot sweatpants and a sweatshirt today, so i borrowed sweatpants from a senior and a sweatshirt from a sophomore, and i pretty much looked like a penguin.

gahhhhhhh.

hahah i look like a penguin in like everything. like my peacoat!

GEETA

heyall. i'm with GEETA right now!!! she's sleeping over at my house. we went into nyc today and saw Justine and Nathan, it was really fun. "you get the general idea" -geeta
Can't you feel the love? (and my mild disgust?) :P
