I love it when I find things like this that describe me so well.

First Game

So, my field hockey team had their first game today and I played goalie the whole time (even though I've only been goalie in the last three practices). But it was fun and we won! Since Field Hockey isn't a very popular sport we usually don't win... we don't even have enough players on our team at our grade level so some of the JV girls play. But it was still cool. I made a few saves, let nothing in, and managed to hit the sweeper in the face with my field hockey stick (although we have to wear goggles and I hit her right on them thank god). Heh.

Also, in the practice before the game, one of the JV players popped up the ball when she tried to score and it hit me in the knee right between the massive shin gaurd and these weird big, padded shorts/pants I have to wear. So now I have a brusie there but it's really not that bad.

So.... just to bring up an idea.... What would you all think about me going to college next year? I want to get everyone's feed back.... As right now I have no idea whether to go or not but I'm going through the admissions process anyway (I don't even know if I'll get in though my sister thinks I will and since she goes there....) So yeah, ideas?

Memory of the week #8

Remember that wierd little show the RAs did on the first day, about the rules and stuff? It was in foy, same place as the dances. And there were christmas lights in there 'cause it was so dark. I don't remember which act Amanda was in...but I do have various random memories of the show. Like I remember the skit about not doing into restricted areas or something like that, and one RA pretended to be doing construction work on the dining hall with her chainsaw when another RA (playing a student) threw a frisbee into the construction area and got her head cut off. Then we all made rain! Remember making the rain?

The Big E

Alright, everyone who doesn't know what the Big E is. No, it's not the Big Apple. It's this sorta fair thing in Massachusets that happens every year. It's the Eastern States Exhibition and it has a "house" for each of the states in New England as well as farm animals, carnival rides and lots and lots of food. I've only gone once before but it was really fun.

My favorite part has to be the state houses, lots of food. We got maple fudge and penuche fudge as well as maple cotton candy (which is SO much better the regular cotton candy), maple sugar candy, a GIANT jawbreaker and some other stuff. You can just go to thebige.com and there's stuff all about it. I think it's open until like October 1st.

I've also been working on a website for myself. It's sort of a blog/story post/picture post/ more when I get more. Um, yeah. I've been working on it with my dad and it looks pretty cool now. If anyone wants to get an account there you can comment on my stories, it's pretty easy to find your way around the site. (I think).

So here's the link.

FUDGE!

I MADE FUDGE! It's actually pretty good! It's like half chocolate half penuche. Yeah. I'd give you all some but.... yeah. Anyway, today's been a down day. Tomorrow I go to the Big E with my dad and little sister. We should all go!! haha, a little late I think. If any of you are going call me and maybe we can see eachother there!

School Spirit!

Today was school spirit day! woohoo! Meaning that they asked everyone to wear black and gold (our school colors...even though we're the *seagulls* which is a really silly team name anyway, because, I mean, seagulls just have no fear surrounding them. Although our mascot is awesome, it looks like a giant chicken. Except more seagull-y.). But I didn't have any gold, so I just wore black and light brown which looks kind of gold when it's in the right lighting. And I got my face painted by the cheerleaders at lunch, and I bought black and gold balloons, but they flew away. Which made me sad. Anyway, each period was five minutes shorter so we finished school early and went to the football game after school. We had to stay until 2:30, after that you could leave, but I didn't 'cause I was having fun. Not that I was actually *watching* the game...I can't follow football; I just cheer when everyone else does. And WE WON. Everyone was shocked because, y'know, my school is a *technical* high school. We're known for our lego-robotics team. Our football team is a bunch of nerds. And the other team were these huge guys from Harlem...and we beat them like 20-6 or something. Heehee. Then I stayed for xcountry, but we did an easy run today, so we were only there for an hour or so later. And then I went to Applebee's and now I'm home.

Go Seagulls! FEAR THE FLOCK!

tired

I've sortof been going through this week in a haze of tiredness I thought I was going to 6th period when it was only 5th so I just walked into the wrong classroom and just sorta.... walked in and then out again... That's what this week has been like.

That's what happens to me when I only sleep like 7-6 hours a night. Meh.

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

I have lots of stuff to do. I can't really post that much. But life's been treating me well. Just wanted to let you know Im alive.Crew takes up all my homework time and Im up till like 10 at night. If you didn't know I go to bed muy muy early. Its good to know everyone is cool.

Memory of th week #...7? Also, some other stuff.

Right, really random one this week. Remember in that computer lab where we would always type up our essays, how there was that one wall made up of slabs of wood or something, and there were these random vehicles (ve-HICK-les) built into it? There was like a car and a bus and a train...and I always wondered why they were there. It was very strange.

Also, I am tired. Just in general. Like, I'm sort of sleepy, but I'm also just *tired*. School does that sometimes...at least mine does. And while everyone else is talking about what they ran for, I ran for the SO but I lost because veryone voted for Eddie Murphy...actually *I* voted for Eddie Murphy (only after I ran out of people who I actually knew). Because his name is Eddie Murphy, and how cool is that? And I have a bajillion tests this week...at least one in almost every subject. Today was Russian and Global. Plus all those projects, which I've started on, but there's so many things to do and not enough time! Argh! And they just keep multiplying! And of course half of them are actually extra credit and the other half I'm definately making 10 times harder than they need to be...but still. And that silly bottle rocket thing for my computers/engineering/robotics class which I've decided to just call "legos" because it's easier and less scarey sounding. Must remember to put duct tape in my backpack. And I lost my student metrocard, but the bus driver is nice so he let me ride anyway. But looking on the bright side of things, I'm meeting lots of new people! I love making new friends...it gives me this happy feeling.

watsup wit me

ok, so, skool is going ok, im taking 2 science honors courses @ the same time, but had 2 drop band which sux, cuz i luv band, and now im eating lunch wit....no1!!! im running this Tai Chi club, which is going ok, but i wish that i could do sumthing else. the stupid club is the only reason i cant go 4 a sports team, even if i did make it....
so far, im bored 2 deth, supposedly doing HW, and i doubt any of u are gonna respond, but ok...
oh yah, ppl, wat do u think of this poem:

ANGEL TEARS
Falling, gliding towards the earth,
Frozen tears of angels
Noone knows what they're worth
Spreading gladness
Spreading joy
Spreading sadness
Spreading feelings of never more
Always quiet
Muffling sounds
A layer of white on the grounds.
One crow cawing
His mocking laughter,
Silent jeers,
Heard by no one
But angel tears
sum1 i no wrote it..wat do u ppl think? she wants feedback, so i told her it wuz good and she didnt believe me...

So I am finally deciding to post. Some stuff happened this week. I was elected prez for the middle school, first xcountry meet, first band practice and normal school. Homeroom is really cool, cus my teacher is the band teacher, so me and some friends play the guitar with amps, and another friend plays the drums. Its a ton of fun, and I cam in 3rd at the meet, with a really fast time for me. Plus I got like 85% of the middle school votes, which was really cool. My math/trig teacher is really nice and easy. So life's cool.

Lately...

Much has been happening. I came back to my dad's house, after being gone for around a month or so because of certain summer circumstances, and had to unpack. I also had/have to clean up and vaccum and such which is always fun. Besides that I'm busy drowning in my pile of homework, painting, starting piano again, and writing songs. I'm working on one now that actually seems well planned out, for me. I'm also trying to get back in touch with my sister as I haven't talked to her for ages and to keep on working on my story.

I'm starting to play 5 piano pieces now including the Moonlight Sonatina, a Sonatina by Mozart, and The Storm by L'Orange. I've been assigned to start working on and pick two songs from another book I have now. I'm glad that I've moved out of the sightreading books which talked about technique to different books that teach technique by teaching songs. The song I'm working on is actually on the piano, though I might convert it to guitar as well, which is unusual and means I actually have to write it out on manuscript (ugh.)

I'm also starting on the school Field Hockey team again. It's going pretty well, however we only have 10 people on the team (we need eleven in a game) so we'll have to borrow varsity players for the actual games. I really like Field Hockey, I've been taking it in school for three years now and it's definately one of my favorite sports.

Besides that I'm just tired since I've only been getting 5-7 hours of sleep a night, which isn't much for me to run on especially all day at school with sports. So... now I need to do homework. Fun.

*HUGS*

Nothing else to say.

o wow, i was GOING to write about how annoying and depressing my bio project is, but then i read monica's post...and i was like...wow lily. fickly ickly small problem. i guess in our community we dont see much violence...AB is like, quiet quiet quiet, eveyone like, knows who everyone else is...safe streets....stuff like that. im pretty thankful for that...never really appreciated that as much as i do now. it's kinda like one of those things where u dont realize how much u have until u hear abt sumthing bad from one of ur friends....scary. ok....

wow i cant resist venting about bio.....I HATE IDENTIFYING WEEDS.....

ok, not bad....only one sentence.

Depress me any more ?

So two girls from my school have died in the past two days.
One died this morning, and she was a friend of mine, and an amazing person
The other I didn't know, had never even heard her name before, but she was stabbed to death around midnight Saturday.

School was pretty somber all day.

WTF?!?!?!

You know the movie that's coming out about CTY? It's based on Bugger's article!!! He was one of the two screenwriter's for the movie!!! Yeah, that's right. It's a comedy for kids and family from Nickelodean.

Can you believe that? Here's a quote from this movie insite website:

Screenwriter(s): Adam Sztykiel, Burkhard Bilger Producer(s): Julia Pistor, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins
Distributor: Paramount Pictures Production Company: Nickelodeon Movies
Year of U.S. Release: 2006 U.S. Theatrical Release: TBA, 2006 (Estimated)
Genre(s): Comedy, Kids, Family Plot Synopsis: A group of children spend the summer taking college level courses at a "Nerd Camp" and redefine what it means to be cool.
Based on a New Yorker article by Burkhard Bilger.

AHHHHHH!!!!!!! How could he?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Stupid ignorant little rat! Just search around and you'll find lots of stuff about it. We need to retailate!!!!!

Genius

Tonight on CNN was the article on Geniuses which was partly about CTY. They showed CTY pretty well, it wasn't too derogative. The whole thing seemed kinda silly to me, talking about people trying to breed geniuses and whether it was from genes or from the environment they grew up in. It also talked about some really smart kids who wrote books by 15 and were star violinists by 12. It got my dad and I into a discussion and he said there's talks about geniuses seriously being adifferent species... I mean really! Remember from that article?

Haha.

I haven't really posted that much - I have a lot going on. Here's extra curricular activities. I have crew which is three hours long everyday after school and i get home about 6. I also have chorus and band before school which aalternate every day and are one and a half hours long. Then I have homework which the load is like two hours minimum. A lot of stuff. But schools good and so has everything else. Guess what in English we are working on our OWN PERSONAL ESSAY'S! Ring a bell? Yeah I think its so cool. The only thing that is really annoying is that my mom keeps sending the CTY stuff to my school cuz they can put it on my record. Uggh-it looks like im bragging

CTY on TV!!

On CNN tonight at 10 there's a thing on about gifted education or something, and it has a segment on CTY! Just thought I'd let you people know...'cause *I'm* watching it...so I thought *you* might want to. It was filmed in late june though, so no chance we'll be in it.

Weird!

Hey, you guys remember how Chetna and I saw each other at the mall a few weeks ago?!

Well, I saw Alydaar at the same mall! In almost exactly the same place! It was so random.

I went to Larkfest today, which is basically a hippie-fest in Albany. We basically just walked around... There were some really odd people there...

Um... Last night I went to the Cheesecake Factory, which is such an awesome restaurant. That's where I saw Alydaar.

And... well, basically nothing else is going on. School is... well, school like. Not particularly great. I got an A+ on my first essay of the year, and it was not a five paragraph essay! WOOHOO! I felt special.

Camp Sloane

I'm BAAAAACK

So, the trip was fun. It was an hour and a half ride in a coach bus to get there. The bus ride up I wasn't feeling to well so it sorta sucked. The day we got there (Monday) I dropped my stuff off in the cabin the girls were going to stay in and then I had to pack for a hike. We took bare minimum for the trip, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothes, and water.

We hiked for like three hours the first day and then set up camp (this was on the Appalachin trail.) There were four guys and four girls in my group and the guys slept in the shelter that was at the campsite and the girls slept on a tarp, on the ground. It was fun though. I was with one of my friends named Lindsay. We had weird rice with beans for dinner and hot chocolate. We had to prepare a bear bag so that we wouldn't attract animals with our food. It was REALLY cold and all we had were our sleeping bags but it was still fun. In the morning we ate oatmeal and there was optional hot chocolate and then we packed up and left.

We hiked for eight hours.

We climbed five mountains on that trip including the tallest mountains in Connecticut and Mass. YAY! It was fun, although pretty hard.

I also did the team building stuff/low ropes. There was also a high ropes course where we had to walk over wires up in the trees from 30 feet to 50 feet of the ground, climb a shaky ladder to get there, walk across and log and a bridge at the same height and then we jumped off a zip-live where all the guys got hurt because they didn't pull the rope down.

It rained the last day we were there and that was the day I went canoeing and climbed the climbing wall, or at least tried too. By the time it was my turn on the wall all the blocks were really wet and slippery so I couldn't get all the way up, although I don't know if I could have anyway. Yeah. But canoeing was fun, we got really wet and I paddled mostly while the other two girls in my boat just sat there.

The bus ride back was fun, there was a movie playing and I talked with a lot of my friends. We were all wet, tired and sore so we got home and slept. Although today was my friends bat mitzvah so we had to wake up again.

Glad to see you guys managed to keep some posts happening while I was gone ;P

Memory of the week #6

Remember clingy-guy and clingy-girl? And how they were always together...until they BROKE UP? And I was kind of sad, 'cause they were clingy-guy and clingy-girl and they weren't clinging anymore, annoying as the clinging was while it was happening. But clingy-girl bounced right back, she found a new clingy-guy in like 2 days. meh.

...and the fish died.

Yep, Giorgios died this morning...he hadn't been eating. It was bound to happen...I guess I should have promised him a better christmas present :o) He was a good fishie. He lived a good, long, goldfish life of 5 days.

And I've decided that high school is slightly insane. At least mine is. But I love it anyway. 'Cause hey, we learn RUSSIAN.

WOOHOO its the second week!

So it's like, the official end of the "first week of school" becuz we started on a wednesday, and its....WEDNESDAY!!!!! and i had a math test today (woohoo...chapter one......postulates and such....cuz im taking geo.) it was so incredibly easy....but it feels like it was like, a trick...cuz it was easy. YAH. sooo i havent gotten lost at ALL this week, im so proud of myself. seems like the highschool looks like a phone....its a phone-shape....hard to get lost in.

so anyway, i read this story in english yesterday, called "A Good Man is Hard to Find," by Flannery O'Connor....holy moly it's like, crazy. the guy keeps talking abt jesus and how its right to kill ppl, and how jesus' actions may or may not justify that, but then in the end it doesnt matter....and then he shoots an old lady....and says that she wouldve been a better person if sumone was going to shoot her every sec. of her life....becuz she said all this meaningful stuff....and yeah...if ya wanna read it.

o yeah, and here's another good one: "The Possibility of Evil," by Shirley Jackson.

lol, our first english unit is "the nature of evil," can u tell?

Silly English Teachers

I need some advice...see, tomorrow is our exam on summer reading. I read a tree grows in brooklyn. We need to write an essay on the theme of our book and literary elements the author used to support the theme. My teacher gave us this uber-structured essay format and it took all my self-control not to raise my hand and start arguing with him about functional un-fixedness and breaking comfort zones. SO, I could write the essay his way, or our way. His exact words were "Now, do you have to write your essay this way? No. But I recommend it, because this would really be a perfect essay." Heh. Maybe I'll just follow *some* of his format...he's requiring us to write an outline too, which peeves me because I don't like outlines, helpful as they might be to some. What do all you esssayissstsss thinks?

Heyall. I'm going to Camp Sloane tomorrow. It's a week long school bonding trip. hurray. It means I won't post for a while and I expect lots of posts frmo you guys when I get back! ;P

Yeah. Besides that.... Not much is happening. My stepmom has Lyme Disease. But I'm not at her house right now. Ok.... anyway....

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Junior Caramels.

The company that makes Junior Mints has come out with something new! It's.... Junior Caramels! The exact same thing except carmel instead of mints!!!

I just found this out today and am thrilled. The company is officially my favorite ever! Anyway, yeah. They're actually pretty good :P

Memory of the week #5

Remember when we were playing sardines and chetna hid in that staircase right across from where we were counting so no one bothered to look there and it took us like a half hour to find her? Actually, I'll just broaden this memory to sardines in general, though I try to make memories of the week pretty specific 'cause we'll all remember the broad things. But whatever.

First Day of School

Well, I haven't been able to give you guys my first day of school story, because my internet shuts off every time I try, and we just got our computer fixed. So, I'm too lazy to give you the whole story, and I will be summarizing it.

Basically, my day sucked. The high point of it was math, and I hate math. That shows how horrible it was.

In the morning, I was confused. There are two lockers numbered 87, and I went to the wrong one and tried to get into it. Eventually I figured it out, after an embarassing trip to the counseling center for help. Band first period was good, second period was global, my teacher is CRAZY AND HILARIOUS, so it should be awesome. I'm not in any classes with my best friend!!!! SNIFFLE!! I'm so sad! I don't even have lunch with her...

Third period Biology (The Living Environment), I thought I walked into the wrong room because there were a lot of not so smart kids there, and I thought we had an honors class. Apparently, since we all take the same course and they switched up science this year, we don't have an honors class. That saddens me. We went to an assembly in the auditorium where we met our new principal. He's weird. I saw my friend who I thought was moving away, but HIS NEW HOUSE IS FULL OF MOLD (YAY!) so he got to stay here! Yay! He surprised every body by coming back when he thought he was leaving. It was awesome.

Fourth period Biology Lab. Fairly normal seeming.

Fifth period lunch. I have a few friends in there, but not Jackie, or my other best friend Danny. That saddens me. On the second day, during lunch, some kid told me I had a dark aura. Go figure. It was really random.

Sixth period math. I'm in a weird math class, it's Math B, it's an eleventh grade class, but I have it with the tenth grade accelerated group. It was good, because our teacher has a masters in gifted education, so it should be a good class, and I'm sitting next to a hot kid. He's punkish, so he actually talks to me sometimes, whereas other hot kids would not necessarily do such a thing.

Seventh period spanish. My teacher is a pothead. No joke, he smells horribly of smoke, and once taught his class to say "I smoke pot" in spanish. That may not be CTY appropriate. He's crazy and thinks that if he talks incessantly in spanish, the kids will somehow understand him, but they don't.

Eighth period english. We're reading some good books, but my teacher isn't as good as last year. I told her about the essay class, and she wanted to know if I might tell the class other methods of essaywriting. YAY!

Ninth period study hall. I walked in, and it was full of tenth graders, and I almost walked right back out. Then I saw Danny and a few other freshmen, and it was okay.

Well... that's just about it.

It was horrible the first day because it was confusing and I had no friends in my classes. Also, there's this new girl in my grade taking the same math course as me. That saddens me, because I'm basically the only smart kid in my school, and she acted very condescending, like she thought she was smarter than me. Grant it, I never act like the smart kid outside of class, but she shouldn't have been mean and assumed I was dumb. It's getting slightly better though.

I got a fish!

Hee. I (and several of my friends too) won a fish last night at one of the games at the greek festival. It's a goldfish, but it's an individual because it's silver. And I named it Giorgios. And Giorgios is *not* going to die tomorrow! No! He's going to live 'til christmas 'cause I bribed him. I told him I'd get him a present if he lived 'til christmas. So right now, Giorgios is sitting on the kitchen table in a vase because we don't have a fish bowl. He's a very cool fishie.

CARIBBEAN

sooo its friday....and on the 3rd day of school, we had a mega test on the caribbean (BOOK)...and the avrg. of the test (in the past years) was like, a 60. sooo i feel like a failed the stupid test, and i probably did.......CARIBBEAN, by JAMES MICHENER. i read the WHOLE FRICKING THING. u should try it. then try taking a test when u have no idea what ur supposed to know...there's honors social studies for ya. im totally gonna fail this year.so yeah...there's a look into lily's life i highschool..and OMY GOSH. i DIDNT GET LOST. but my bus broke down this morning, so i was late for class...

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!

Big stuff is happening. Like the start of the 2006 FOOTBALL SEASON!!!! Sundays r now sit on the couch, be lazy, and watch the game days. But u guys wouldn't care. Moving on. On the second day of school we had a community service day and a field day. The middle school jumped from abt 70 kids to 100. Its a big change. So anyways, I ended up picking up trash, and found a lot of neat stuff including a hub cap. Then came the fun. Our school has a house system, almost exactly like Harry Potter. There r four houses, with colors. I'm in Olcott, a famous person in the school's history, who's color is orange! U can gain, but not lose, points for ur house. There r competitions at which points r awarded and the winning house gets the House Cup. So during the field day each house had three teams which they had to put everyone through a hoola hoop without touching the sides. The hoop is abt three- four fdeet off the ground, and we were lifting 200 pound seniors which was not fun. Our group was very lucky the biggest kid in the school wasn't there, cus we'd have to cut the hoop. He weighs like 300 and is just huge. After the hoop thing, we had to buyild an egg capsule and throw it over a tall fence. If the egg doesn't break ur done. If it does start over again. We finish fifth, not bad. Then there was the 100-yard dash, which I killed everyone in the 8th grade. The 10th and 11th grade people were smokin!! Then cam the tug of war for middle and high school. I was in it for middle school and we lost the first match because of too many little kids. Then came the third place match which was literally five solid minutes. Everyone collapsed at the even and I was wiped. But we came away with a win. Our high school team was stacked, but disappointed and came third. After the day ended our house cam in tied for third, but dominated the races. I then had a ton of ice cream and almost puked at xcountry practice. We learning a ton in school.

Skyool

First week of school is over! Woohoo! And already I've had two quizzes, one test, homework every night (up to 2 hours already), been assigned an essay on plastics, a report on a scientist, and a math project thing. See why I'm woohooing? And today was "fun friday" in my engineering/robotics class. Not fun for us, fun for him. Though I admit I had fun, even if that's just because my team like set a record with our 55" tall tower made out of one piece of paper and six inches of scotch tape. And I went to a track meeting today after school, and I'm leaving in like 5 min. to go to the greek festival with my friends. Toodles.

Miranda's Day

Okay, woke up at 5:45 after sleeping for all of 3 hours, waited in bed for a few minutes to see if my mom would come, got up, looked out, realized she wasn't up, eventually decided to shower. Got out of the shoewr, she still wasn't up, knocked on her door and she came out looking bewildered and annoyed because her alarm hadn't gone off.

Got in the car at 6:30, a little late, drove to my dad's house to get something, drove to school and got there around 7:30. 7:30-7:50ish saw friends after a whole summer. 7:50ish went to a all-grade meeting. oon 6th and 7th came in and it was a all middle school meeting. Lasted until around 8:45. Then the 6th/7th grades left and the 8th grade meet for another hour or so.

Snack, spent putting stuff in lockers (which we got during 8th grade meeting).

All school assembly, 9:50-10:30. Spoke in front of all school, people kept saying I did well. Heh. Then classes actually began. First Art, stupid kid named Connor finally wasn't in my class this year. Lots of friends in it.

Then Honors Spanish, almost same exact class as last year. Lots of friends. Got our books, got homework writing 10 sentences about summer vacation (obviously in spanish). Then Advisory which was another 20 minute meeting.

Lunch.

English, cool teacher. Small class, no overly stupid/annoying kids. Reading Lord of the Flies, Merchant in Venice, and To Kill a Mocking Bird this year. Read Lord of the Flies going into fifth grade. Haha.

Geometry. Weird, class full of ninth graders didn't really know. Teacher spent the whole time going over lots of requirements. Head hurt by the end of it. Had to fill out a sheet and do Algebra review for homework. Then sports. Signed up for Field Hockey, need one more person to make a real size team. Can still play but everyone has to be at every game and we need to use some varsity sometimes.

Basically it, managed to get through the whole school day without being tired. First started realizing only got 3 hours sleep when couldn't focus on HW. Now REALLY cranky, should go to bed.

Night, yeah, it's early, w/e.

Monica's day.

Okay so
First day of school post since I never post here

Morning, woke up at 5:45 and took my puupy and other dog outside, took shower, got dressed while puppy sat on my bed, chewing my socks. Come 6:48 I walk up the street to go to my bus stop, wait twenty minutes for my bus to get there, and then head off to school. I don't like my bus route much this year, there are actually people on my bus...yuck.
Today was the Freshman only day, and so we came to school, and my team (group of students with the same academic/core teachers) met in the auditorium and found our "big buddies" or, the seniors who are supposed to show us where each of our classes are.
After I found my big buddy and met up with one of my friends, Gab. After a brief announcement thingy, we got shown where our lockers were by our big buddies, made sure we could open them, and then my big buddy tried to figure out what we were supposed to do, and showed us where most of our classes would be.
When the bell for first period rang, he pretty much abandoned us.
So first period I have Social Studies with my friends Greg, Shauna, and Meredith among other people that didn't pop into my head immediatly, the class doesn't seem that bad, it's just annoying because it's a two year long course because of the stupid NYS regents.
Second period I have studio in art, which seems like it's going to be an awesome class because the teacher's pretty laid back. I have lots of friends in this class (Shauna, Steph, Greg, Alma, Emily) that I'm actually allowed to talk to for the entire period, which makes me happy.
Third period.......I have math, which will only have five freshmen in it, which is so weird. I don't really have any friends in this class, which is saddening, but math is not my best subject, so it's probably better for me to pay attention anyway. Did I tell you I hate NY? I have to take the regents in January for math. Yuck.
Then there's fourth period, during which I have French. You know, the entire group of Freshmen taking french only amounts to like...thirty people? (=oneclass) I don't know what to make of the teacher yet, I've heard she's a b-(language, monica) horrible, crazy (like..literally insane) person, and she seems strict, but she also seems okay for now. But you can never judge a teacher by the first day. Ever.

Then we had this break thing where we got breakfast snacks and looked at the different clubs we could join.
Oh yeah, I should probably mention that each of the periods were like...15 minutes long today

After the break thing I had English, which is cool so far. We did a freewrite on this quote "Your hands and feet are mangoes, but you're gonna be a genious anyway" I liked that quote, and I think my freewrite was pretty good. Among others, Shauna, Mikela and Allei are in my English class, and Allei, to me, becomes a very amusing person indeed when Shauna and I are together, if not slightly homophobic.
After English I went upstairs to Biology. Bio is hard as it is. And it's a tenth grade class. And I'm in honors. Yuckyuckyuckyuckyuck. I think I might fail. The teacher seems nice enough, and like a good teacher, but she's really strict and makes you work hard.....which is totally not my thing, sorry. and I have the regents in June
After Bio comes Gym, which I have Monday, Wednesday, Friday. In the Gym I met Alicia, one of my best friends, and basically the teachers showed us the locker rooms and told us how class would go and that's about it.
And 8th period is Writer's Workshop, which I have with Alicia, and Danielle (who is Shauna's ex-best friend so there's kind of an annoying clonflict there) and my friend lindsay, but she's a junior, so I didn't see her today. Writer's Workshop seems like it's going to be an amazing class, which makes me super super happy

After that, we got herded to the cafeteria where they had sandwiches, but I just took a bunch of cookies, for a "picnic" where basically, we just chilled out and I slept. Then we went to the auditorium for another class assembely, and then it was the end of the day and I got on my bus and went home.

After I got home I searched for a place to buy corsets that weren't over $100 and then went to physical therepy and now I'm here, and at 6:30 I have pointe.
Fun.

1:36 AM - 1:42 AM

AH! I seriously can't sleep. I start school tomorrow (by now it's actually today) and I can't sleep. I think it's probubly because I got up at like 12:30 but... Anyway. It's like driving me crazy, I've tried listening to music and reading and by now I've jsut given up. My alarm is set for 5:45 which means even if I fall asleep now I'll only get like 4 hours of sleep. Except I think I might have fallen asleep for an hour or so at one point... maybe a little less. So school's gonna be tough tomorrow. I'm gonna be SO tired by the end of the day. I can't wait to see my friends. . . . . . . meh. Maybe I'll try sleeping again...

*SIGH*

Thank you Chetna!

It worked!!! Yay!!!

Bye Bye Summer!

Hey all, I'm running around my house like an idiot finishing my laundry, writing a speech that I found out I have to read tomorrow in the all school assembly, and making sure I have all the crap I need for school.

GOOD BYE SUMMER!

Wow I have a lot of things to say! LAURA, i did not ignore you! I was really in a hurry cause my friend is moving to CHILE!!! FOR THREE WHOLE MONTHS!! Yeah I would have been like YAPPing a whole lot but we had to meet her before she left and I was already one hour late from what we had planned. Then I AM SOO READY for school. YAY!! My friends and I also had a back to school party too! Whoo! OHyeah before i forget , amelia - i got the doll picture on my post because i saved it to my pictures then i uploaded it while i created my post...
SCHOOl!!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL

Well, because NYC is stupid and has to be different from the rest of the world (or at least the rest of you) I get to be the first one on here to post about my first day of school. And because I get this honor, I'm going to set a standard for the rest of you. A really evil standard. I'm going to tell you evvrryyyythiiiing. Which means you have to do that too. Ha.

Anyway. My mom drove me and my friend Gabbi (who lives right down the block from me) to school. We've been carpooling together since, like, third grade, because walking into school alone really sucks. So we get there, and some teacher outside was saying "Freshmen, over here!" and he asked us if we knew our homeroom. Now we had gotten a note home a few days earlier telling us what our "official class" is, and it told us that we would go to the caffeteria to find out our homeroom. So we're like, Umm...but it turns out it's the same thing. So we were told to just go into the gym and sit with our "official class". Since I'm in 102 and Gabbi's in 103, we just kind of stayed together. And we saw Sheina, one of my fiends from CTY '05 who is going to the same high school as me (yay!) .

Then I had homeroom. Thankfully, I knew someone in homeroom (Andrew), so I sat with him. We got our schedules and a bunch of notes and stuff. Y'know I'd never had homeroom before? My middle school never did that.

Then I had band, which was in room C39. Andrew had that too, and he said that was probably the basement. It was, which was good! We didn't get lost! A couple of my friends from middle school are in band too. The band teacher seemed nice -- he plays in broadway shows. And he says we'll be in NYSSMA, which is cool, 'cause my middle school never did that either.

After band, hang on....I had gym. Usually on Tuesays 2nd period I'd have Bio Lab, but since it's the first day they said that there would be no lab, everyone would just go to gym (which I have 2nd period every other day of the week). We didn't really do anything except fill out delaney cards. And it's CO-ED. Ew.

Then I had Biology, or "Enviornmental Science" as they call it. We got gigantic textbooks which we then had to carry around for the rest of the day. And we got the first of many contracts to bring home for our parents to sign. And we were assigned seats. That's pretty much it.

Then I had math. Another contract (which we're actually having a test on tomorrow! AGH!). More delaney cards. Really, that's all we did in most of my classes because the periods are so short -- there's nine periods, but the day is only from 7:50 - 2:08.

Then I had lunch. I got slightly lost trying to find the cafeteria, and so I was late, not like it even mattered because so was everyone else, and we had to wait on a line to get in anyway because they had to stamp our schedules. Lunch kind of sucked. I only knew three other people who had the same lunch period as me (Andrew, Rachel, and Nick.) So then me and Rachel went to the SO store to pick up our gym uniforms and I left my schedule with Andrew then the bell rang before we went back to the cafeteria, so I was missing my schedule. I knew what I had for the rest of the day, though, and Rachel was in my next two classes, so I just followed her schedule until then.

So next I had Global history in room 310 -- on the third floor, right? So Rachel and I go up the first staircase outside the cafeteria (in the basement). We go up two flights of stairs, then the staircase is blocked off by a gate, meaning it leads uip to the roof. Um, but this is only the second floor. So we go back down the second floor hallway until we get to another staircase -- once again, blocked by a gate. So we were very confused. Luckily, the third staircas we tried actually went up to the third floor... needless to say we were late. The class itself was fine, its history up to the middle ages.

7th period I had...actually I'm not sure what it's called. Some sort of computers/engineering/robotics type course which invloves building things with legos. Hee. Fun. Actually, I'm kind of nervous 'cause I know, like, zip about robots. Oh well.

Right, then I knew I had english. Except I didn't have my schedule, so I had no idea what classroom to go to since Rachel had to go to technical drawing. I had to go to the office and tell the lady "Umm...I don't know where I'm supposed to be." So she helped me out, wrote down the room #'s for my next two classes, and I was late *again* for english. He had us write a paragraph about what we expected from the course. I managed to slip in that I took an essay writing course over the summer.

List period was russian. I'm actually starting to get the hang of the alphabet from studying notes from the summer orientation, even though I didn't even need to do that since we're starting the alphabet over from the beginning. My russian teacher (his name is Mr. Callahan, which I find amusing because, y'know, it's just so russian sounding :oD) is awesome. He talks in this really loud, really fast russian, then he asks us what he just said, and we all just stare at him. Yup.

That's it. Then I took the bus home with most of my friends and it was raining so we got all wet but my hands were too full from holding my gym uniform and my textbooks to get my umbrella out. And I actually had homework in GH (summarize a newspaper article) aside from the bajillion forms to be signed and textbooks to cover and rules to review and school supplies t gather...I want summer back...

Life

Right now I'm trying to catch up on life cus I just got back from vacation, and I don't kno anything abt the world. I am gonna die from lack of espn, and I am not ready for school. So I'm getting really lazy and will explain my vacation in a short series of words. I went to czech, austria, and hungary, saw tons of palaces, castles, and big old buildings, had fun and am now back. So tht was basically it. I am now wasting my last day before school starts tom. I have to go early cus I'm an ambassador and I'm kinda pissed. Early and me don't go together. I'm done.

O RIGHTY

So.....im choosing between spring track or tennis for a spring sport, lol! i think im gonna try out for tennis, and then do track if they're like, lily u suck. so haha....doing indoor track for winter!!!!!! o man i love school sports....still getting pumped for school!!!!

Okay okay, it's the last day.

I dunno about all of you, but I am SO PUMPED for SCHOOL. Lol, I already have my locker planned out, and I went around the high school to look for my classes...and it turns out...this is a little bit of what my schedule looks like....

I start out in the EAST wing (2nd floor) where my locker is....drop off my stuff...then go to my homeroom which is stupidly in the WEST WING of the 2nd floor...so i run over to the other side of the school...woohooo..and then my first class is french, which is in the EAST WING of the FIRST FLOOR. aw man....down stairs, and then to the other side of the school. and then after i have bio....which happens to be the room next to my homeroom...so i run up the stairs, and to the WEST wing of the school.....and then after bio....i have PE....so i get to run around more...and then after PE i have pottery....which is in the far eAST....so thats ok...and then i have lunch....which is central...and then geo....which is in the WESTon the 2nd floor....and then english....central, 1st floor....and then ss.....2nd floor east.....i go up and down the whole day...im gonna be burning soo many calories....hahahha

haha so, wishing u all an AMAZING schoolyear...like, put those ESSAY skills to work....except now were going back to five paragraph standard couple pages topic sentence, supporting evidence, closing statement/clicher essay.

woohoo!

so, GOOD LUCK CHUMS. *wink*

Last Summer Night.

So this is basically the last night of the summer for me. Because tomorrow I need to go to bed so I can get up at 6. Ah!

Anyway. I wish I would run into someone at the mall! I feel so stranded in stupid CT. Meh.

Doll!

Boy have I been posting a lot.

CHETNA!

I saw Chetna at the mall today! It was rather weird. It's very odd to see people I know at places. And Chetna practically ignored me, didn't you Chetna?! Sniffle... Just gave me half a hug and wandered right on out, drawn away possibly by the delicious lures of the Cheesecake Factory. It's okay, I understand... I'm just not cool enough to be seen talking to at a mall... And... now I'm bored. We made more tomato sauce today, I guess...

CRIKEY!

Steve Irwin died! That's horrible, he has a family and everything! http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1732439.htm

Also, there's this entire manhunt going on across New York state right now, for all you out of state people. A guy escaped from a prison and shot two state troopers, and one of them died yesterday, he had a family too. It's really sad. http://www.capitalnews9.com/content/top_stories/default.asp?ArID=190992 So, basically there's this psychotic murderer on the loose who can hide easily because he's part native american, has lived there his whole life, and knows the woods better than anyone. http://www.capitalnews9.com/content/headlines/?SecID=33&ArID=190839 So, he's been loose since April and the only time we've heard anything about where he is was when he shot the troopers.

And... I only have today and tomorrow before we go back to school, which scares me.

We threw a surprise birthday party for my friend Jason from writing camp on Saturday. Well, everybody else planned it an I just showed up and ate food. It was hilarious, because my other friends from writing camp made a cake and messed it up horribly, then one of them got lost on the way to where we were throwing the party, and we watched Spinal Tap, which was an awesome movie.

Sunday we went to the Saratoga Racetrack and watched the horses. We ALMOST won $2000, because my dad tried to pick the three winners of the next race, and he got the first two but then the last one didn't win! Argh. We ended up losing a little bit of money, because we skipped church to go there and God smited and cursed us for doing such a thing. But, it was fun. We ate food. I enjoy food.

And.... that is all. May the force be with you.

One MONTH!

It's been exactly one month since we got home! AH! I miss you all so much. There was so much traffic on the site today! Yay! (even though around half of it was mistakes). Yeah. So did you all get my email about Andre Agassi? Yeah, he's cool. I used to watch him play all the time with my dad. It was so sad today, he was like crying for ages and he got a standing ovation. Then he got the mic and he couldn't talk for the first like minute and when he did you could tell he was trying not to cry.

Yeah, anyway. I only have two more days of summer. AH! That's so sad. Okay. So.... yeah. (that's like totally my word. Yeah...)

I'm Here!!!!!

Yeah im her. well actually i was gone. I went to Atlantic City!!! Yeah i could have totally visited like half of you guys on the way there. The trip was muy muy fantastico. Speaking of Spanish-THERE WERE SO MANY MEXICANS!!! And I saw SHAKIRA!! No-I actually idn't get to because my six year old sister was under the age limit of the concert. And think about this. almost 11 at night in Trump Taj Mahal with 5000 drunk gamblers. Yeah its not a pretty sight. So we didn't go. We did get to go on the Steel Pier where I rockclimbed and went on this really cool roller coaster thingy. There was a boardwalk and we went SHOPPING!!! yay! I bought like 200 hundred dollars worth of stuff. Factory stores were expensive there. Yeah, but now i have like a while new wardrobe for school YAY!! yeah, it was really cloudya dn windy because of ernesto. then it rained. but we did whatever we wanted to do.

oh yeah. gahhh...my killed my sister's fish by accident. i hit it with an algae scubber.

Memory of the week #4 / I'm back (again)!!!

Got back from my nannie's house on LI thursday night, and I'm finally posting! My school starts the day after tomorrow. High school. The day after tomorrow. Gah, I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around that. And I'm starting to get nervous. I only know like, 10 people who are going to the same school as me. But *sigh*. I just finished packing my backpack and labling my books & stuff, and I picked out outfits for the first week (I'm slightly obsessive about that) and I think I have everything except I forgot to buy white-out and re-enforcements. And I ordered a backpack online, but my order was cancelled because they stopped making it which made me mad, so I don't get my navy blue corduroy jansport. It's just plain navy blue instead. Which isn't nearly as good.

Okay, random memory time! So, remember that time we played soccer during study hall break? We were going to continue that game, but we never did. Anyone remember the score?

YAY!

YAY! MORE PEOPLE! (right now only one but.......) Anyway yeah. I went to my friends bat mitzvah yesterday it was ok, escept that she's my friend from CTY so there was only her and one other girl I knew there. But me with my amazing social skills (hahahahahaha, yeah right) managed to actually meet new people!!!! dun dun dun!!!! The service was really long, it was like 3 and a half hours, and most of it was in hebrew so I didn't understand. I was also sitting alone in the temple and the people beind me were being really loud. Yeah.

Today's my stepmom's birthday and I'm sorta scrambling to get her something, I forgot about it. Heh. Anyway, my dad will be here in like an hour to pick me up.

: D

HEEEEEY!!!

I haven't made a post in quite awhile. : B

So anyways, I am afraid of high school because I am afraid I can no longer procrastinate without big consequences. : (

I start JV volleyball practice on Tuesday too. Gaah. No more physical conditioning. I am soooo out of shape.

WOOHOO!

HEY GUYS! GUESS WHAT!!!!

I just remembered that I copied down Amanda's username and password when she was making the blog, in the event that we would need to edit it or such a thing, so I invited Moose, Kendall, Amy, and Kathy. Woohoo! I hope I got everyone's emails right... but well, now we will have more people posting and Miranda will stop freaking out because no one posts. Problem solved.

I can't help to get Greg on here. There is no email on the secret military base in Canada. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that. However... well, just be excited that soon Amy, Moose, Kendall, and Kathy will be here.

*dance*

Musssst Pooooost

I'm trying to think of anything useful to say but nothings coming. The only thing I can think of is I'm going to my friends bat mitzvah tomorrow but she's my friend from CTY two years ago ad I probubly won't know anyone there. Weird....

five more days man!

haha hell0 from a long procrastinated post. there are, ACCORDING to my CALENDAR, FIVE more day of SUMMER. exciter??? yes....we had student orientation like, 2 days ago, in which we crowded into the auditorium to meet our counselors and all that jazz. and then we took a tour of the school...and i tripped on the stairs...which was...my exciting expedition of the day! tripping! haha ok....so when does school start for all of u?

why are ppl writing abt under toenails? i kno..its like, skin then flesh. and ur muscles and nerves and stuff. teehee. bones.

I hope you all realize that out of the last 8 posts, five have been mine. Seriously guys, what the heck. I feel like there's no point in looking on the site, let alone posting, because no one does anything!

Anyway, heh. Um... I just realized that I need to read another book for school, which starts in 6 days. AH! I'm so glad I looked now! AHHHHH! schol starts in 6 days! I'll be glad to be back at school and you know seeing my friends and stuff, but I'll be going from having nothing to do to having to much to do, I wish it would even out!
